Cesare Aiello Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 10, 2026.
AIELLO, CESARE

ROCHESTER, NY: Friday, February 6th, 2026, at age 83. He was preceded in death by his parents Matteo and Giulia; brothers, Pippo and LiLi; sister, Liliana Wells. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edda Alicia; children, Isabel and Cesare M. (Dana) Aiello Jr; grandchildren, Lucas and Ava Aiello; sister, Pupetta (Montagna) Aiello; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In1960, he went to Muri, Switzerland to avoid Italy's mandatory conscription in the military. This is where he lived for many years and became a journeyman welder. The company he worked for sent his crew to Spain to live and work on a multi-year project, where he became fluent in Spanish, drank good beer, and ate fish every day. By 1968, he joined his mother Giulia and sister Liliana in Buffalo, NY. Less than a year later, he met his future bride Edda at an ESL class at the University of Buffalo. She was drawn to his bright green eyes, while he was captivated by her curves. He found work at Eastman Kodak as a welder, and they moved to Rochester NY in 1973 with 2 small children. He retired from Kodak in 1998 and never lost his sense of adventure. He spent his time traveling and visiting family and friends in Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, and Italy. His generosity and kindness will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered for how fiercely he loved us.
