Chad Hamilton Carpenter

Carpenter, Chad Hamilton, age 45, of Mt. Juliet, TN may have passed away March 31, 2022, but his one-of-a-kind larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten. He brought laughter into the lives of everyone who knew him. His legendary wittiness and trademark stubbornness made him hilarious and infuriating at the same time. Everyone always knew where they stood with him. He either liked you or he didn't. If he liked you, he would do anything for you and if he didn't, it was best to walk the other way. He said and did what he wanted with no regard for what anyone else thought. He had a tough façade but when you got through that, you would see he had a generous heart. His true joy came from giving to others not receiving.



He enjoyed family, fishing, traveling, cooking, football, all things Vegas, going to the beach and was always looking for the latest gossip. He was passionate about supporting his dad's Purple Heart chapter and Auburn football.



Chad took fashion advice from no one. He wore an old black fleece everyday that had a bread tie for the zipper. He would dress it up for family on Christmas by using a red shiny bread tie. He had three pairs of the same flip flops, but they all had a designation depending on how new they were. He had work flops, regular flops, and dress flops. He hadn't had a proper haircut since the pandemic started. He gave himself haircuts and was proud of the rat tail he was growing until he accidentally cut it off. Instead of a wallet, he used one of his wife's hair ties around his cards and cash. You could buy him new things, but he liked what he liked and said he didn't care if he looked like a hobo.



Chad was born in Anniston, AL. He was a 1995 graduate of Springdale High School in Springdale, AR and attended the University of Arkansas where he met his wife and was a member of The Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. Chad was a natural born salesman and was employed by ACME Food Sales. He really could talk anyone into anything. He joked that he always got the YES!



Chad, Alicia and McKenna loved to spend time fishing together on Lake Guntersville and going to Destin. Chad's relationship with McKenna was one of constant fun. They loved having dance parties, movie nights, and conspiring against Alicia.



To cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Alicia Carpenter; daughter, McKenna Carpenter, 8; parents, Woody and Rebecca Carpenter; older brother Zack and his wife, Wanda Carpenter; grandmother, Ellen Rhodes; aunts, DeEnna and her husband, Greg McAlear and Betty Tankersley; cousins, Jeff Tankersley, Philip Tankersley, Gary Cooper, and Taylor Griffin; in-laws, Bill and Madeline Fly; and sister-in-law, Adrianne Fly. He also has a niece and several nephews.



He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He was a bright light in this world and succeeded in spreading as much happiness and laughter as he could during his short time. He is now at peace with his beloved best friend, Moose, the English bulldog, rocking away in their pair of old man recliners.



Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Chad's life from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 123 Church Street, N.E., Decatur, AL.
