Chad Michael Flickinger, 36, of Salina, passed away on April 17, 2025. Born and raised in Salina, Chad graduated from Salina High School in 2007. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served faithfully from 2007 to 2011. During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS Monterey (CG-61), forming lifelong bonds and proudly representing his nation. Following his military service, Chad continued his commitment to his fellow veterans as a proud member of the Salina American Legion. On August 8, 2009, Chad married the love of his life, Cheyenne Lawson, in Adair. Their marriage of 16 years was a testament to love, friendship, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their children, who were Chad’s greatest joy. He loved nothing more than being a husband and father, and he cherished every moment spent with his family. Chad worked as a supervisor at Pryor Chemical, where he was known for his leadership, dedication, and work ethic. He had a deep love for life and his community and could often be found at the Salina Speedway, cheering on races or catching up on the latest NASCAR or F1 events. His passion for racing was matched only by his passion for people. Chad will be remembered for his bright spirit, selfless heart, and the way he always put family first. His laughter, strength, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Chad is survived by his wife, Cheyenne Flickinger of the home; children, Tyson Ried Flickinger and Kara Jane Flickinger of the home; parents, Rhonda Griffin and Charles Griffin of Salina, Oklahoma; sister, Vanessa Rose Parker and husband Blake of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandparents, Lorrene Griffin of Salina, Oklahoma and David Green of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Shirley Green, and grandfathers, Willie Perry and Charles Griffin, Sr.
