Chad David Harp
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, we announce the passing of our kind hearted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother to many friends; Chad David Harp. After two hard fought years battling pancreatic cancer, he is free and with our loving God!
An Idaho native, Chad was born in Caldwell on July 15, 1963. Through his childhood he enjoyed time on the family farm. Working in the fields and riding horses were part of his daily enjoyment. Chad graduated from Bishop Kelly in 1981 and soon after met his soulmate, Lisa. Chad moved to Texas to work for the Dominican Country Club and Lisa soon followed. On February 9th, 1985, they were wed in San Antonio. Within three years they moved back to Idaho to raise a family closer to their true home.
Back in Idaho, Chad worked at the family-owned business Northland Camper, designing and manufacturing truck campers. The next endeavor in his career was with Northwest Building Systems where he worked for 20 years selling modular buildings that went all over the country. He made many lifelong friendships at Northwest and enjoyed many adventures with coworkers during this time.
Chad enjoyed the outdoors and being with friends. Taking life like a bull by the horns, he loved to mountain bike and ski. He was well known at Bogus Basin with his full coyote pelt hat "Lucky" blowing behind him. There were many weekends and holidays that were spent in the mountains camping and at the lakes jet skiing with friends and family.
Chad also enjoyed fixing items himself, he learned his skills from his grandfather Raymond and continued to grow and apply it till his last days. Anytime he asked for help, he would find a way to do it himself before help could even arrive!
Those that wait a joyous reunion with Chad include his soulmate, Lisa Harp, his son Corbin Harp and wife Jessica and granddaughter Ainsley, daughter Kenna Draper and husband David, grandchildren Logan and Lilee, stepfather Larry Hutton, stepsister Ginger and husband Travis and nephew Dakota, Uncle Howard and family, Uncle Jim his wife Vicki and family. Father-in-law Ken Blacksmith and wife Judy, stepbrother Daryl and wife Denise and nieces Taylor and Sydney. While we grieve, he is no longer in the present, he has joined our Heavenly Father, his mother Vickie Hutton, father David Harp, grandparents Raymond and Lois Nau, grandmother Lola Vitley, Aunt Wendy Nau, and cousins Jamie and Andy Nau.
We were all lucky to enjoy such a loving and caring soul in Chad. He is now free of pain and is flying free watching over us. Until we cross paths, he will be a guiding light to us all. My Chadly was the love of my life. We will miss him until we meet again in Paradise.
Celebration of Chad's Life will be held at Foothills Christian Church in Garden City, ID, on January 13, 2024, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN.org) to help support families through this disease and find a cure.
