Chad Wailynne Marcus, 52, of Prairieville, LA, finally saw his Savior, (for we walk by faith, not by sight), on January 2nd at 3:15pm, after battling end stage kidney failure.
He was born on January 31st, 1973. Chad was the youngest son of Bobby Wailynne Marcus and Patricia Smith. He loved his Lord Jesus, his wife of five years, Monique Witmer Marcus, his daughter (Doodle Bug), Yancy Jade Marcus, and his church family at Fellowship Church. He also had a love for hot rods, and he loved sending out daily scripture text to his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Monique Marcus; daughter, Yancy Marcus; stepmother, Carol Marcus; brothers, Robert Thane Marcus (Karen) and Ronald Shane Marcus; sister, Kimberly Dawn Marcus.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Wailynne Marcus; mother, Patricia Louise Smith; brother, Jay Dean Marcus; sister, Malynda Menyette Marcus.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Fellowship Church on Hwy 73 in Prairieville. Visitation will be held from 10am until 12pm, with services immediately following. Pastor Kirk Jones and lifelong friend, Pastor Brian Robert, will officiate the service. Burial will take place at Fundamental Baptist Church Cemetery in Livingston at 3pm.
His nephew, Matthew Marcus, some of his dialysis transportation crew, Geno Gordon, Scott Downie, Brian Vige, and Casey Hebert, as well as his friends, Gerard Hudson and Joey Retif, and brother-in-law, Carson Witmer will all serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Fresenius Kidney Care, Gonzales Health Care, with special thanks to LaShonda Johnson, assistant director of nursing, and Brittany Rodriquez with Hospice in His Care for their compassion, care and support to the family during their time of need.
