Chad William Denton Mason, age 36, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday afternoon, January 31, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1989, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Kelly Jo Denton and William K. Mason. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 2007 and worked in commercial construction, most recently for Steadfast Construction Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and looked forward to any activity where he could be out in nature, like hunting or fishing. Just as fun was the process of getting to his favorite hunting or fishing spot, since he loved four-wheelers, dirtbikes, trucks, cars, and anything else with a motor that could go fast. Chad had an infectious smile and laugh and was usually doing one of those two things. He was a free spirit who was always full of energy and loved to have a good time. Chad also looked forward to a quiet Sunday afternoon watching movies with family. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chad leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Kelly Jo Denton and Mark Anthony Wireman of Belding; his biological father, William K. Mason of Belding; grandparents, Ronald Goodyke of Grand Rapids, Schereen Rich of Orleans, and Joyce Sower of Belding; special “sister” Ashley Wireman Gannon of Tennessee; aunts and uncle, Shelly Arnold of Belding, Jera (Phil) Smith of Ada, Lisa (Tony) Sower of Belding, Jody Adams of Belding, Linda White of Belding, and Jim (Mindy) Wireman of Florida; many cousins; and several close and special friends, who meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Marylou Goodyke and Clinton Rich; and an uncle, James Arnold.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 7, (Chad's Birthday) 2026, at the Belding V.F.W. Hall, Post 4406, beginning at 3:00 PM. For those who wish to express their sympathy through a memorial donation, The “B” Foundation is recommended.
