Chad F. Maye

Chad F. Maye Sr., age 51, of Johnstown, Ny, went peacefully to his eternal rest on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, after a long illness with his loving family by his side.
Chad was a lifelong resident of Johnstown, NY, where he attended Johnstown public schools. He was an excellent carpenter and a skilled painter. Chad was a hard worker and was employed by several local construction companies. He was a devoted Catholic and regularly attended mass at the St. Patrick's Church in Johnstown. Chad was a big football and hockey fan, always rooting for his favorite teams which were the Washington Redskins and the Washington Capitols. He loved his cats, even naming them after his favorite sports teams. Chad enjoyed being out on his boat with the love of his life, Lissette. Be it barbequing on the beach or just watching the stars, he loved being on the water. Chad was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping, always looking to catch the big one. He enjoyed cooking and was always making new recipes. He was known to take over a barbeque and become the chef. Chad loved his family and was famous for his surprise two words text (luv u). He loved his life and lived it to the fullest.
He is survived by his companion of 13 years and love of his life, Lissette Majewski; mother, Mary Maye; sister, Laurie Murray (Harv); brothers, George Maye Jr. (Annette), Corey Maye (Brandi); children, Chad Jr., Jared, Georgie Maye; nieces and nephews, Austin Maye, David Ward Jr., Sena Darling, Breanna Maye, Corey-Michael Maye, Easton Prue, and many great nieces and nephews.
Chad is predeceased by his father, George F. Maye Sr. who passed away in 2013 and a niece, Lorianna, who passed away in 2010.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, NY.
