Chad Wayne Sandberg, a father, son, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2023 in Hardin, Missouri, at the age of 49. Born on March 9, 1974, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Chad was the son of Gary Lyle and Mary Kay (Kronschnable) Sandberg Oestreich.
Chad was a talented and dedicated construction worker, specializing in roofing and remodeling and was a member of Boiler Makers Union # 647 from 2014 until 2018. His handy and creative nature led him to become self-employed, where he took pride in helping others build and improve their homes and businesses. Chad's commitment to his work was a testament to his character, and he was well-respected in the communities he served. He had a huge heart and touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
A true Minnesota Viking fan through and through, Chad was passionate about supporting his favorite team. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and barbecuing, often cooking for family and friends.
Chad is survived by his mother, Mary Kay Oestreich of Hazen, North Dakota; his children, Zachary Otis and fiancée, Jackie of Brook Park, Minnesota, Alex Otis of Brook Park, Minnesota, Nicholas Peterson of Mora, Minnesota, Paige Eigenheer of Blaine, Minnesota, and Kody Sandberg of Sartell, Minnesota; one step-brother, Jeff Oestreich of Hazen, North Dakota; two step-sisters, Gwen Fahlsing of Hazen, North Dakota, and Loree Sailer of Garrison, North Dakota; two grandchildren, Jacklynn Marie Otis, Trustin Hope Blaszczyk; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends, Travis McClure, Jason Hartwig, Ryan Miller, and Larry Oster.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Sandberg; his sister, Tina Sandberg; his grandparents, Merwyn and Betty Begalke, Earl and Isabel Sandberg, and Arthur Kronschnable; one uncle, Kenny Kronschnable; and one aunt, Donna Korte, and his step-father, Vincent Oestreich.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in both Carrollton, Missouri, and Minnesota, allowing loved ones and friends to come together and honor Chad's memory.
Inurnment will take place at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota.
