Visitation: Monday, October 30, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
Chad T. Schipper age 63 of Colon, passed away unexpectedly at his home on the morning of Friday, October 27, 2023.
Chad was born on November 25, 1959, in Three Rivers, Michigan, a son to the late Theodore M. and Hellen A. (Dykstra) Schipper. Chad lived his entire life in Colon, graduating from Colon High School with the class of 1978. He attended Glenn Oaks Community College and earned an associate degree.
Chad loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and cutting wood, and especially enjoyed his cats and dog Molly. Chad was previously employed at Wells Saw, Sturgis Molded Products and eventually retired from Maxitrol in Colon in 2022. Chad was one of the original very active members of the former Colon Anglers Association. He was also a previous member of the Colon United Methodist Church.
Surviving Chad today is his brother: Tod M. Schipper of Colon, nephew: Tyler (Kirsten) Schipper of Colon, niece: Megan (Turner) Schultz of East Leroy, great nephews: Theo Schultz, Callahan Schipper, Toren Schultz and Beckham Schipper, brother-in-law Marion (Christine) Hayes, special friend Sharon Hagen, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog Molly.
Besides his parents Theodore and Hellen Schipper, Chad was preceded in death by his sister Debra K. Schipper.
The Schipper family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 5-8 PM at the Schipper Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Chads life will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are encouraged to the Colon United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
