Chad Eugene Shaw, 54, of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, after a brief illness. Born September 13, 1970 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of Harold E. "Bud" Shaw, Jr. and Connie J. (nee, Marty) Shaw of Uhrichsville, Ohio.
Chad was a proud Mustang and class president of Claymont High School's class of 1989 before earning his associate degree in mechanical engineering at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. He spent his entire career working in his family's business, Shaw Welding and Repair Shop. He loved everything about cars and spent as much time in the outdoors as he could – enjoying fishing, hunting and boating with his sons. Chad was a devoted father who supported his sons in everything they did, especially enjoying their wrestling at Claymont. He was also a wonderful son, brother, and uncle who was deeply cherished and will be sadly missed by all who knew him, including the family dog, Sara.
Chad leaves behind his sons, Wyatt A. Shaw and Quaid R. Shaw; daughter, Claudia N. Milburn; granddaughter, Waverly Milburn; brother and sister-in-law, Jason M. and Tessa Shaw; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa "Misty" (Kirk) Henry; and several nieces and nephews, in addition to his parents, Bud and Connie Shaw.
According to Chad's wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. His family plan to celebrate his life privately. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Claymont Booster Club.
