Chad Snethen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Angels Above Cremation Services on Dec. 22, 2025.
Chad passed away December 16, 2025, after a lifelong battle with kidney disease. Even though his short life was plagued with suffering, he was the kindest and most loving father, son, and brother. His squinty smile is fondly remembered by many who knew him, as he had a fun-loving personality and goofy sense of humor. He will be missed dearly.

Born August 11, 1979 to Dan and Karen (Foster) Snethen, in Topeka, Kansas, Chad attended Washburn Rural High School and made many lifelong friends there. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing with his beloved dog, Zena, and spending time with his son. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Dan Snethen, and brother, Todd Snethen. Chad is survived by his son, Blake Snethen, brother, Dusty Snethen, sister-in-law, Melissa, and his mother, Karen. He was loved dearly.

Chad was a softspoken kind of guy, one that would quietly sit and let others be the center of attention while he enjoyed the stories with a grin and laugh. He was brave and peaceful until the end.

Chad would want us to share that he was a kidney recipient and proud to be a tissue donor. If you or your family are considering the gift of donation, please learn more at Midwest Transplant Network, https://mwtn.org/. Our donor coordinators, Megan and Rachel, and the team were extremely kind and informative. It is comforting to know that Chad could still help many others after his passing.

The family wishes to thank the hardworking doctors and nurses at Stormont-Vail, many of whom knew Chad personally from years of visits, and the team at Midwest Transplant Network, and all who have reached out or share a memory of Chad. May he live on in our hearts.
