Chad Jordan Thompson, 27 of Middlesex passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Social Plains Baptist Church, 639 Hagwood Road, Zebulon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ray Price will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon prior to the service from 1 – 2:45 p.m. at Social Plains Baptist Church, Zebulon.
He was born in Winston Salem to Kenny Thompson and Tonya Rigsbee and he loved spending his time outside fishing, riding four wheelers, and hanging out around the fire with his family and friends. As Chad grew older, he also enjoyed gaming and “doing the dad thing”. He graduated from Southern Nash High School in 2015. He loved working outside, going to work at Crawford, David Brantley and Sons, and Creech’s Plumbing. He found a home in every job he did.
Chad is survived by his wife, Yvonne Dufrene; daughters, Emma Millett, Sarah Thompson, and Peyton Thompson; his dad and stepmom, Kenny and Debbie Thompson; siblings, Kenneth “Bubba” Thompson, Blaise Thompson, Kaylee Thompson, and Brendan Thompson; aunt Nicole and uncle Thurman Williams; Melanie “Ma” Ray; grandma, Eadie and papa Calvin Rowell, and an abundance of cousins, and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emily “Mama Dinky” May; grandfather, Gary Rigsbee and his cousin, Kristen Bennett.
Chad was a light in his family’s life and is dearly missed each and every day.
