When I first joined the Agronomy faculty, I had the priviledge of teaching genetics labs; Champ was the main professor who taught the lecture & organized the class. Those were happy days, & I learned so much from him - about life as well as genetics. He was as fine a person as I have ever met, & his memory will always bring a smile to my face (although now it is bittersweet because he is missed so much). Condolences to his family & friends from my husband & me.

Our sincere condolences to the Jones family. We will be keeping you in our prayers. Champ taught me genetics at Clemson. I worked with Joe and Emory. Both later became my boss. I have very fond memories of working with all of the Jones men. I respected and admired all three. I lost my only brother suddenly three months ago. I don't know exactly what you are going through but I have a good idea. Just remember as Christains they are in a better place than we are now. May God bless you. Martha and Jack Ruff

We are truly sorry to hear of Dr. Champ's death. He meant so much to us when Mac was in undergrad school by hiring him in the Genetics Lab. Also, we both enjoyed our association with your family during our time at Clemson. He was truly a wonderful, Christian man. Heaven is a much better place today. Love, Mac and Elaine

Our hearts are broken for you. Society and the body of Christ is diminished for the loss of Dr. Jones and all that he gave back to our world from his earliest days. We are grateful for having passed his way, and we grieve for you as his absence has created a hole in your lives. We know that the love of those who love you, and knew him, will help to breach the gap. We also know there is never enough condolence to fill that void a giant like Dr. Jones has left. Sense our prayers and our genuine affection for all of you and know our petitions continue on your behalf.
