Ms. Chante’ Andrea Tanel Abernathy went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2024. Chante’ was 33 years old. She was born to Clarence Abernathy and Benita Dickson on December 27, 1990, in Saginaw, Michigan.

Chante’ was a graduate of Buena Vista High School. She pursued higher education and obtained an associate degree from Saginaw Valley State University, and a bachelor’s degree and dual master’s in business and health & human services from Eastern Michigan University. Chante’ was a licensed realtor for the State of Georgia.

Chante’ gave her life to Christ. She was an avid reader and a wonderful, caring mother, daughter, sibling, and friend. She shared a special bond with her late brother, Ceazar Abernathy. Chante’ was employed by the United States government and by the Centers for Disease Control in Georgia as an Epidemiologist. She was an avid traveler and had visited many countries. Chante’ will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Kingston Brown; goddaughter, Kioni Branigan; her father, Clarence Abernathy; grandmother, Eddie Mae Dickson; three sisters, Tracy Dickson, Diamond Herron, and Jayuanna Dickson; two brothers, Clarence Abernathy, and Rico Herron; many nieces, nephews, four aunts, three uncles; many cousins including special cousins, Bianca Floyd and Arnisha Simon; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Charquia Stevenson, Andrea Sanders, Charrell Branigan, and TraFanesha Collins.

Chante’ was preceded in death by her mother, Benita Dickson; grandparents, Minnie and Leonard Dorsett; brother, Ceazar Abernathy; cousins, Octavia Thompson, Dominique Jackson, and Walter Abernathy II; grandfather, Arthur Dickson; aunts, Dejana Ervin, Renee and Deborah Abernathy; uncles, Jahmal Dorsett, and Warren Abernathy.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Critical Care Unit at McLaren Hospital in Bay City, Michigan.
