Chapman E. "Gene" Dunham

Gene Dunham of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on August 13, 1932, in Crowville, Louisiana, to Walter Chapman and Vera Louise (Douglas) Dunham.
On December 21, 1953, Gene married Dorothy L. Travis in Austin, Texas. He earned his master's degree from Louisiana State University and dedicated his career to public service as Milk Market Administrator for the Department of Agriculture, Southwest Milk Marketing Division.
Gene was a faithful member of Community North Baptist Church in McKinney, where he was deeply involved in the life of his church and its ministry. He loved his church, and he truly had a servant's heart. Gene enjoyed gardening and had a passion for woodworking, hobbies that brought him great joy and reflected his love of creating and nurturing. His commitment to woodworking led him to build three different, beautiful Satterwhite Log Homes.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his family, and his community.
Gene is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dunham of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Paula Smith of Lake Dallas, Texas; daughter, Kathy Dunham of McKinney, Texas; daughter-in-law, Janet Dunham of Plano, Texas; grandson, Michael Green of Farmers Branch, Texas; granddaughter, Ashley Cady and husband, Tim of Anna, Texas; great grandson, Seth Barger of Shreveport, Louisiana; great granddaughter, Bailey Thompson of Anna, Texas; great granddaughter, DeLaney Green of Farmers Branch, Texas; great great grandson, Oaklynn Barger of Shreveport, Louisiana; and sister, Sally Tipton and husband, Dan of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradford Eugene Dunham.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/chapman-e-gene-dunham. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive guests for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
