Charla Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home - Fort Gibson on Feb. 13, 2024.
Charla Kaye Lee, 72, of Fort Gibson was born June 25, 1951 to Charles Aaron and Mary Louise (Braswell) Dailey and passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Fort Gibson, OK with her loving family by her bedside.
Charla worked for WISH for 25 years. Over the years, Charla and Evelyn Hibbs became not only co-workers, but best friends. She had many memories from her years at WISH. Charla enjoyed spending time with both her children and grandchildren, they could do no wrong in her eyes. Every time her daughter Michelle would call, Charla would answer the phone 'yes thorn', because she would call about every 20 minutes. George remembers the time he was arguing with 'Mom', Charla hit him with a 2x4 board. He called the cops, but he was the one who went to jail. Little George remembers when he ran into Granny's cigarette and got burned. He never let her forget that, he would always remind her that she was the one who burned him. Brian and Charla would always argue over who ate the most snacks and hide them from each other. Charla and Ebony would always talk about going shopping for wigs and purses. Jacoby remembers when he was little, Charla would sleep across his legs because he would get up at night and get into things like climb on the refrigerator and get insulin needles and break them. Jacoby would also paint the washer and dryer. Up until her last days, he will always remember taking care of her. Charla will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Charla was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jackie Stone; daughter, Stephanie Lee; grandma and grandpa, Dailey; grandma and grandpa, Braswell; special son, Robert Elder (Maxwell); ex-husband and children's father, George Lee; uncles, Leroy, Charles, Robert, and Edward; aunts, Ella Mae, and Betty Jane; brother in laws, Robert Reynolds, and Robert Lee, life time friend, Sheila Million.
Charla is lovingly survived by her daughter and best friend, Michelle and husband Brian Maxwell Sr. of the home; son (Momma's Boy), George Sr. and wife Angela of Muskogee; grandchildren, Jacoby Lee, Brian Maxwell Jr., Brionte Maxwell, Bryanna Maxwell, Brianna Maxwell, Brayden Maxwell, Caleb Crosby, Jacine Crosby, and George Lee Jr.; special son, Travis Mitchell; sister, Sharon Reynolds of Muskogee; brothers, Don Dailey and wife Stacey of Muskogee, and Ron Dailey of Washington State; great granddaughter Kehlani; a host of nieces; nephews; and many friends.
