Charla Williamson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City on Feb. 19, 2026.
Charla Jean Williamson, 83, a resident of La Marque, TX, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Charles Deisch; stepfather, Richard Harvey; husband, Billy Williamson; former husband and longtime friend, Harold Jenkins; sisters, Joyce McGuff and Faye Creech; and son, Lee Jenkins.

She is survived by her son, Royce Jenkins; beloved grandkids Makenzie, Gage, and Kaleob Jenkins; and many other family members and friends.

Born a fiery redhead and the youngest of three sisters, Charla was known for her wit, confidence, and feisty personality. She grew up in Houston and lived in the area much of her life, working for many years as a bookkeeper for Pearland Animal Hospital. Before that, she renovated apartment buildings, taking pride in resurrecting neglected spaces, and owned several bar-restaurants in the Houston area.

Charla's bold spirit led her to pursue action-packed athletics like tennis, snow skiing, and water skiing, where she formed choreographed pyramid towers with her fellow skiers. Along with a talent for sports, Charla loved painting-and had a big soft spot for her rescue dogs.

A force of nature and unafraid to speak her mind, Charla will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Rather than requesting a traditional funeral service, Charla chose to donate her body to science for medical research. To help honor her memory, please consider performing an act of kindness or donating to an organization advancing scientific research.
