Charlene Lafaye Hodges was born in Longview, Texas on November 14,1943. She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie Bernice Harris, Father, Charles Hodges, Brother, Fred Harris Jr., and Great Grandson Kaeson Combs- West.

She attended Longview Public Schools and graduated from Mary C. Womack High School in 1962.

She married James Combs on January 4, 1965, and moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after. To this union they had one child.

Charlene was always dedicated to service, being a past member of the Order of the Eastern star, and several auxiliaries at her church.

She worked as a domestic in the Dallas, Area for over 30 years

She will be fondly remembered for her love for her family, The South Oak Cliff Golden Bears, and the Dallas Cowboys.

And we can't forget: Her hot water cornbread, and Cornbread dressing.

Charlene is Survived by her only child, Tammy Combs of Dallas, Texas., Her Grandchildren: KeyAnthony Combs (her heart) of Mansfield, Texas, and Jasmine Combs (her peace) of Dallas, Texas,

3 Great grandchildren: Londyn Combs, Maeson Combs West, and Nova Combs

Siblings: Ruthie Williams, of Dallas, Texas, Willie Harris, (Jeanie) of Diana, Texas, and Anthony Harris (Peggy) of Gilmer, Texas.

Her Bonus Children: Weldon Harris, James Futrell, Laura Smith Ward, Ian Dowl, Clentis Edmond and Larry McGill

And a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
