CHARLENE CONNER Obituary
Life's Reflections
Charlene Elizabeth Conner (Floyd) was born April 19, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to her parents Raymond and Christine Floyd. Charlene was the youngest of four children, three of which preceded her in death: Raymond Floyd Jr, Betty Jessup and Myrna Killabrew.
Charlene attended IPS School #26 and continued her education at Crispus Attucks High School, where she obtained her diploma. Charlene met and married James Waymon Conner Feb 27, 1956. To their union of sixty-nine years, four daughters were born.
Charlene possessed an excellent work ethic at RCA, FMC Link Belt and retired from Indiana University Hospital. Charlene enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music and working in her flower garden.
Charlene departed this earthly life on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the age of eighty-seven years, three weeks, and seven days. Charlene was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Conner and a grandson, Tyree L. Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories her four daughters, Karla Parker, Donna Coleman (Morris), Darlene Smeltzer and Yolanda Conner; a sister-in-law, Vanessa Giles; grandchildren, Cameron Parker (Romona), Megan Smeltzer, and Chelsi Smeltzer, great-grandchildren, Kaila Davis, Keerstyn Tucker, Aaron Bauer Jr., Jeremiah Parker, Honor Parker and Cameron Bauer.
