GATHA CHARLENE HOPKINS CREWS, 86 LAKE PROVIDENCE, LOUISIANA Cox Funeral Home Lake Providence, Louisiana LAKE PROVIDENCE, LA - Funeral services for Gatha Charlene Hopkins Crews, age 86 of Lake Providence, Louisiana, will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Providence Church in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Reverend Don Boyett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Providence Church in Lake Providence. Mrs. Crews passed away on Sunday, April 09, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her father, George Renford Hopkins; her mother, Grace Marie Hopkins Sumrall; and her brother, John Hopkins. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Walter Stanley Crews, Sr. of Lake Providence, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and John Babb of Shreveport, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Margaret Crews of Mound, Louisiana; son, Thomas Crews of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Clay Sturgis of Southlake, Texas; son, Doug Crews of Montevallo, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, George and Evelyn Hopkins of Lake Providence; and brother-in-law, James Harold Crews of Lake Providence.
