Charlene LaPerle Lee, 75, of Sterling, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2025, while on vacation in Lake George, New York, a place she cherished for its beauty and the precious memories made there with her family.
Born in Worcester on October 22, 1949, daughter of the late Sylvio and Nellie LaPerle. Charlene dedicated more than 30 years of her life to teaching in the Worcester Public Schools. She was known for her compassion, dedication, and unwavering belief in her students’ potential, always going above and beyond to make a difference in their lives.
Charlene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Edward Lee, who passed away in 2024. She leaves behind her loving daughter and best friend, Taryn Lee-Turgeon, and son-in-law, Ronald Turgeon, both of Sterling; her cherished grandchild, Gage Turgeon, who was the light of her life; and her treasured cat, Kirby, with whom she shared countless quiet, comforting moments.
She had a deep love for life’s simple joys, watching movies with her family, traveling, attending concerts, crafting, and embarking on new adventures. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchild, making memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love.
Charlene will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, her passion for teaching, and her ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for Charlene on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 11:30am until her Memorial Service beginning for 1:00pm in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
