I loved Charlene, who befriended me when we lived in New Jersey. She taught me to make the most delicious cinnamon rolls imaginable. We reconnected in NYC, where she became a Stephen Leader at St. James' Church, Madison Avenue, using her considerable pastoral skills to help parishioners going through a rough time in their lives. My heart goes out to her children, whom she dearly loved and admired.

I met her at church; we served on a committee together: in good times and bad she was warm, cheerful and friendly. I liked her very much indeed.
