In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

She was a great person to know and be around

Char, I just learned of your passing this morning. From the very moment we interviewed you, I knew you were someone special. Thank you for the fond memories that I will always treasure. Take your rest, young lady. Job well done here on earth.

We were blessed to share life with Charlene during her time in Fairmont. She was wise and intelligent; respectful and faithful in Youth Missions. Grateful our time together.

Charlene C. McPherson, 30, passed away April 19, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A public viewing will be held at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Charlene C. McPherson, 30, departed this life after a tough fight with thyroid disease on April 19th, 2020.  She will be incredibly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Charlene, also known as Char to many, was born on October 21, 1989 to Linda Pearson and Charles Russel in the Bronx, NY. Charlene was raised in Fairmont North Carolina and grew up as the middle child of three sisters. She attended A&T University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry.

Charlene was a devoted sister and friend. She was an extremely talented person. Among her many talents, Char most enjoyed doing hair and makeup for herself and her closest friends and family. She was a free spirit who loved to travel and hang out with friends.  She considered herself the fifth Golden Girl and was a very intuitive person. You could always count on Charlene making a “fashionablty late” entrance to any event and being hands down the most beautiful person in the room. She made special bond with several people over the years as she was the most understanding and accepting person you could ever meet. Charlene is described by her closest friends as persistent, determined, insightful, genuine, intelligent, and brilliant. Char had a very distinctive laugh that was so contagious it would inevitably put any person within earshot in a better mood.

She was preceded in death by her “Pa Pa” Corneleius McPherson, grandmother Clara Linda Pearson, and Auntie Eliza Pearson.

To celebrate her life and cherish her memories, she leaves behind seven sisters, Mecca McPherson, Hope “Hopie” McPherson, Lyeisha Pearson, Danielle “Dani” Moore, Ashley “Ash” Smith, Jasmin “Jerz” Reid, and Brittany “Brit” Hargrove; two brothers, Darius Pearson, and Kevin McPherson (Daisy); her mother, Linda Pearson; an aunt Aisha Thomas (David); a niece, Athena Pearson; a nephew, Aiden McPherson; a godson, Manuel Mcants Jr aka Fat Fat; and a host of family and friends.

Services are entrusted to Hargett Funeral Service, Inc.
