MUNCIE – Charlene Stonebraker, 96, passed away on Monday evening, August 23, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 21, 1925 the daughter of the late Carl and Luie (Smith) DeWees.
Charlene married Kenneth Stonebraker, September 21, 1947. They were married for 58 years before his death in 2005. She retired in 1984 after 20 years working at Warner Gear Employees Credit Union. She was a quilter and in her later years she knit hats and scarves for cancer patients.
She is survived by her Son, James Stonebraker (Linda); Daughter, Joann Bradley (Robert); Nieces and Nephews, Connie Schad (George), Karlene Fallis (David), Bonnie Worley, Don DeWees (Yvonne), Nancy Craig (Jeff), Tom Stonebraker; Great nieces and nephews, Jeff Fallis (Beth), Julie Schrank (Bob), Ben Schad (Vivian), Andy Schad (Rebecca), Jennifer Piedra (Daniel); Close friends, Dick and Judi Minniear and Family.
Charlene was proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth Stonebraker; Sisters, Edith Turner, Dorothy Romey; Brothers, Earl DeWees, Claude DeWees; Nephew, Robert E. Worley; Brother and Sister-in-law; Cecil and Sue Stonebraker.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 pm till time of service on Monday, August 30, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Delaware Community Foundation. www.delcf.org
