Charlene "Jackie" Thrower

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2022 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Charlene "Jackie" Thrower, age 78, of Gadsden who passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Dr. Steve Trader will officiate with burial to follow at Black Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Thrower was born August 10, 1944 to Charles William Brown and Mary Louise Brown, who both preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of Dwight Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Glenn Ray Thrower.
Survivors include her children, Neil (Tracey) Thrower, Kimberly (Kevin) Hill, Chris (Jerri) Thrower and chosen son, Todd (Mary Beth) Ellison; grandchildren, Shaugni Thrower, Ryne (Kyle) Craig, Nicklaus (Briana) Thrower, Autumn Thrower, Noah (Katilyn) Thrower, Emily Thrower, Aubrie Hill, A.J. (Brooke) Ellison and Cassie Ellison; 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Judy McCLuney, Richard Brown and Eddie (Theresa) Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Noah Thrower, Nick Thrower, Kyle Craig, Marcus David, Greg Fails and Kevin Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers will be A.J. Ellison and members of the Ladies Sunday School Class at Dwight Baptist Church.
The family extends special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at UAB Highland MICU for their care.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home Friday.
