Charlene Weaver Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3, 2022.
Charlene Hamann Weaver passed away on Sunday, 2 October in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, 12 November at 10:00 am in the chapel.

Charlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce, parents, Paul and Charlotte Hamann and brother, Don Hamann.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Alicia) Weaver and Kimberly (T.A.) Iadevaia, four grandchildren, Abbey and Meghan Rose Iadevaia, and Ashlyn and Nash Weaver, and one great granddaughter, Jazmine Iadevaia.

Charlene grew up in River Forest, Illinois. She graduated from Oak Park/River Forest High School and the University of Illinois. This is also where she met her husband, Bruce.

Charlene called Wilmington home for many years; it is her she and Bruce raised their family and were active members/volunteers at Westminster Presbyterian Church. She also volunteered in many of her children's activities and was a steadfast cheerleader at their sporting events. Charlene loved playing golf and tennis; many remember Charlene zipping around town in her tennis clothes after a match.

Charlene spent the past seven years in Dallas, Texas to be closer to family. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her greatest joy and they will forever cherish this time with her.

Dear Kim, I´m sure you´ll remember me I worked for your Mom and Dad at their home
In delaware for 10 plus years. For the past few years she´s all I´ve thought about. I tried
To get in touch with you to see how she was but could never get your number. She
Was the sweetest, kindest, good hearted person I´ve ever known. I really loved her. She was the total best! She also helped me with my Mom giving me good advice when I truly needed it. I was still looking for a way to find you today when I saw her obituary.
And I have to say my heart is broken! We don´t get a paper so I didn´t know she passed
Away and if you brought her home for her friends to pay their respects I missed it. I surely would´ve been there if I had known. You look so much like her and she loved you
And your children so much. I´m so sorry for your loss Kim but at least we know your Mom´s happy being with your Dad. Just in case you don´t remember I cleaned for your Mom and Dad. I just had to let you know how I felt. Please take care and as a caregiver
Myself it´s a hard job but a rewarding one in the end.
Love, Marie Doberstein

Charlene was a gift. Wise friend and fellow church volunteer, we spent good times talking about anything and everything, especially enjoying our grilled cheese sandwich lunches. I am a better woman for having Charlene call me friend. Sincere condolences to her loving family on their loss.
