Charles Lindon Adair, a man whose laughter and warmth were as boundless as his love for family and friends, passed away on July 5, 2025, in his hometown of Kansas City, Kansas. He was 50 years old.
Born on September 25, 1974, to Ruby Smith and Sylvester Edward Smith Jr., Charles was a beacon of joy and a true friend to all who crossed his path. His life was guided by his unwavering faith and the words he lived by: "In God We Trust." This belief shaped his character and the way he approached every challenge, every relationship, and every new day.
Charles was a devoted father to his sons, Mason and Kyrie Woolridge, and his daughter, Chamauri Lee'nique Adair. In them, he instilled a deep sense of faith, love, and kindness-values that will carry on as part of his lasting legacy.
To know Charles was to laugh. His sense of humor was magnetic, and his natural ability to connect with others made him unforgettable. Whether he was cracking a joke or offering a word of encouragement, his spirit lifted those around him.
Charles's love for his family ran deep. He was a proud and doting uncle, finding great joy in the laughter of his nieces and nephews. His bond with his siblings was one of strength and unconditional love.
A passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, Charles could often be found animatedly discussing the latest game, rallying behind his teams with unmatched enthusiasm. He also had a deep appreciation for music, using it as another avenue to connect with others and express his vibrant personality.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and connection. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be felt deeply. As we honor his life, we celebrate a man who loved wholeheartedly, laughed freely, and lived with a spirit that will never fade.
He is lovingly remembered by his loving children; Mason Woolridge, Kyrie Woolridge, and Chamauri Lee'nique Adair, his mother, Ruby Smith; brothers, Anthony Adair (Rhonda), Malcom Adair Jr. (Regena), and Travis Smith Sr. (Christina); sisters, Michelle Anderson, Beatrice Hudson, Erica Adair, Latoya Hardin, Anna Crum, Sylena Smith, Alisa Coby, and Michelle Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Edward Smith Jr.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the light Charles brought into this world will shine on through every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every heart he touched.
