Charles James "Jim" Alderton, 70, of Wyaconda, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
He was born August 24, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Charles and Marjorie Whitehead Alderton.
He attended Wyaconda High School, and graduated in the class of 1971.
Jim married Candice "Candy" Hoskinson on September 7, 1974 at the Arbela Baptist Church in Arbela, Missouri and to this union two sons were born.
Jim enjoyed outdoor stuff, mushroom hunting, planting his garden, mowing yards, but most of all he loved taking his grandkids to the overhead bridge to watch the trains.
Jim is survived by his wife, Candy Alderton of Wyaconda, Missouri; two sons, C.J. and wife Kellie Alderton of Columbia, Missouri, Chris and wife Wintress Alderton of O'Fallon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Hannah and Charlie Alderton, and Lance and Nick Alderton; one brother, Jeff and wife Sue Alderton of New London, Iowa, and one sister, Kathy and husband Kent Calvert of Kahoka, Missouri, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Alderton.
Jim's wishes were to have private family services at a later date.

When we were growing up Jim lived next door, we played summer baseball together and shared plenty of laughs over the years. Jim will be missed by the whole community as he worked for the city for several years making the city a better place to live for everyone. RIP JIM...
