Charles Edward "Bud-I" Allen, 87, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at his home. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Mike Price and Bro. Lavanul Sherrill officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
Born on June 7, 1937 to the late George and Geneva Gipson Allen, Bud-I went to Loosier School and attended church at Redemption Baptist Church. He was saved at Town Creek Park during a church service. Bud-I loved riding his bicycle and listening to gospel music. Every Sunday he cooked a big meal of pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes. Everyone was welcome to come eat. Bud-I also collected antique vehicles, played the harmonica, and he enjoyed listening to his grandkids sing. He loved his family and would do or give anything for his wife and children. Bud-I was a great provider for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Stella Allen; children, Ray (Vickie) Allen, and Tonya (Jeremy) Tidwell; grandchildren, Chris (Christina) Allen, Kayla Allen, Dustin Tidwell, Lakin (Teran) Gray, Ashley (Chad) Rutherford, Jayley Allen, Lucas Allen, Brittany (Jason) England, Caleb Weaver, Harley Whitaker, and Jamie Morrison; great-grandchildren, Emily, Gavin, Jayden, Ali-Ray, Aislyn, Zaylen, Thoran, Tauriel, Khaleesi, Chloe, Jackson, Aliyah, Braiden, Carson, and Arizona; sisters, Ethel Stewart, and Mary Ruth Back; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bud-I was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Allen; sisters, Naomi Adams, and Syble Taylor; brothers, Fred Allen, Hollis Allen, Bud Allen,Donald Allen, Carl Allen, and Willard Allen.
Pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Jayden Allen, Teran Gray, Carl Allen, Todd Cooley, and Caleb Weaver.
