Charles E. Angell, 85, of Greensburg, devoted and loving husband of Marilyn (Schaller) Angell for 62 years, died peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was born Sept. 25, 1937, in Beloit, Kan., to Charles Elmer Angell and Mildred (Schoen) Angell, who later married Vernon Van Nahmen. Charlie was the proud dad to Charles (Karen) Angell, Cynthia (Allen) Lukowitz and Michael (Danielle) Angell; the loving grandpa of Charlie, Amber, Kylene, David (Elizabeth), Michael, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Kara; and great-grandpa to John Joseph. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Angell; and his parents. The family is so very grateful for the dedicated care from Butch Kane, Thaddeus McQuaide, Lani Piett, Cindy Perfette, Michelle Albert and the Senior Helpers team, the Knights of Columbus and the many others who helped, especially over the last eight years, as he was wheelchair bound. The loving care from all of the staff in the Progressive Care Unit at Forbes Hospital made his last days peaceful and comfortable. Charlie received his bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he was a member of Sigma-Phi-Delta Fraternity and was awarded the Who's Who of American Universities and Colleges. He was employed at Brown Engineering as an engineer working on a contract for NASA and then spent 37 years at Bechtel (formerly Westinghouse PAD) working as an engineer primarily for the Navy. He was a member of St. Sylvester Church where he was an officer in the Knights of Columbus. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the BASH-NIED-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381), where the rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, 3028 PA-819, Slickville, PA 15684.
