Charles “Bugs” Baker
Charles “Bugs” Baker, 87, died April 6, 2025 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Baker was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
Charles worked at many of the local big ranches, including Adams Ranch and Stark Ranch for over 40 years. He was also the owner/operator of Baker Cattle Co. Bugs was a mentor to generations of ranchers and cowboys/cowgirls. He was a wealth of knowledge and was willing to share it with anyone wanting to learn. One thing he loved doing was hosting a New Years BBQ every year, making his famous swamp cabbage. He loved to hunt and be outdoors but most of all loved & doted on his wife of 62 years, Peggy.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Baker of Fort Pierce, FL and sister, Cleopatra “Pat” Dunn of Fort Pierce, FL and her two children, Michael Dunn & Laura Dunn Kramer.
Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm at Parkview Baptist Church, 403 Hayes Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34950. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
