David Carroll Mulligan, of Blissfield, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was 79 years old.
Born on October 10, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, David was the son of Carroll J. Mulligan and Virginia Goodrich Mulligan, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Martha Skelton, and brothers-in-law Frank Skelton and Thomas O’Connell.
David grew up in Northville, Michigan, and graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia. He went on to pursue his passion for the arts at Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a Master of Fine Arts in sculpture and jewelry making. His artistic talent and dedication to craftsmanship would remain lifelong pursuits and hallmarks of his character.
David served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Specialist Five (SP-5). For his courageous and meritorious service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, an honor he carried with quiet pride.
Throughout his professional life, David combined creativity with entrepreneurial vision. He served as a faculty member in the Art Department at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, where he inspired students with his passion for art and design. He later became President of Roto Plastics in Adrian, Michigan, demonstrating exceptional leadership in the plastics industry. Most recently, he served as President and Founder of Turn About LLC Consulting.
A respected leader in his field, David was a two-time President of the Association of Rotational Molders and was inducted into the Rotational Molders Hall of Fame in recognition of his significant contributions to the industry. He also served as President of the Lenawee Country Club and was a dedicated member of the Michigan Opera Theater.
David’s life was rich with interests and enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer, a skilled fine woodworker and metalworker, a devoted lover of opera and American folk music, especially Bob Dylan. A loyal fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, he rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his hometown teams.
Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Juliandra Roberts Mulligan; his sister, Patricia O’Connell; his children, Sean (Laura) Mulligan, Timothy (Jennifer) Mulligan, Michael (Carolyn) Mulligan, and Laura Lynn; and his treasured grandchildren, Alex Ramirez, Lorenzo Ramirez, Kaitlyn Mulligan, Margaret Mulligan, Megan Mulligan, Patrick Mulligan, Benjamin Mulligan, Devin Mulligan, Ryan Jeffery, and Jonathan Jeffery. He was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Sebastian Jeffery.
David will be remembered for his creativity, leadership, integrity, patriotism, and deep love for family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the art he created, the businesses he built, and the family he so dearly loved.
A celebration of life will be held sometime in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to Hospice of Lenawee, The Salvation Army, or Michigan Opera Theater.
