Katy, Texas. He is now reunited with his parents, Perry and Hellen Buchanan; his brother, Roger Buchanan; and his great-granddaughter, Hannah Guillory.
Jeff loved his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally. He was a loyal friend who enjoyed teasing those around him just to see their reactions. Kind and patient, he had a way of making everyone who truly knew him feel special.

Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from Kimball High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. On September 21, 1963, he married Eleanor Guttman in a small private ceremony. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he was deployed to Korea and proudly served until 1969.
Jeff earned his master's degree in Geology with a minor in literature from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After completing his degree, he moved his wife and two daughters to Texas, where he began his career as a wildcat geologist.
He joined the Masonic Lodge #1439 in
Katy, Texas, in 1971 and was raised to Master Mason in 1979. Over the years, he served in numerous leadership roles, including Worshipful Master and Secretary. Masonry was an important and meaningful part of his life.
Jeff had a deep love for woodworking and building furniture. He was also an expert at tying fishing flies, which he used often on his fishing excursions.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Eleanor "Ellie" Buchanan; his daughters, Debbie (Ronnie) Ivey and Vickie (Todd) Wilson; his grandchildren, Brooke Speer, Sabrina (Rodney) Perry, Robert Lolley, Jacob Wilson, Nate Wilson, and Jan (Freddy) Roberts; and his great-grandchildren, Trey, Maci, and Madi Speer, and Eliana, Journee, and Ayla Perry.
