Catherine Mary Buchanan

Catherine Mary Buchanan of Ironton, MO passed away Feb. 20, 2026 at the age of 69 Years, 7 months, and 14 days.

She was born May 6, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the Late James Link. Her father passed away when she very young and she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Dee and Carl Swaringim.

On Aug. 30, 1975 she was united in marriage to Dennis Buchanan. To this union was born two sons; Andy Buchanan and wife Becky of Farmington ,MO and Michael Buchanan and wife Jenny of Fredericktown.

Also surviving are six grandchildren; Hayes, Sloan, Brycen, Nathan, Karson, and Adisyn; one brother William Link of Hillsboro, and a special sister in law Linda Ward and husband Dave of Fredericktown.

She was preceded in death by a brother John Link.

Catherine was a 1974 graduate of Fox High School and for many years worked as a pharmacy Technician to help support her family.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and being a grandma. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making doll clothing, and maybe repairing some clothes for the grandkids. She enjoyed fishing, and was especially fond of Trout Fishing.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026 at 1 PM from Cole Family Funeral Home with Greg Amelung officiating. Visitation will begin after 11 AM on Monday morning and last until 1 PM.. Interment will be in Cove Cemetery, In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
