Bobby Glen Buchanan

A graveside service for Bobby Buchanan will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Virgil Walters officiating, burial to follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Bobby Buchanan, age 77 of Meridian passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home with his family by his side.

A proud veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard, Bobby dedicated a significant part of his life to serving 27 years to his country. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he found great joy and solace, building lifelong friendships and contributing to the church community. Bobby enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, whether it was immersing himself in Sudoku puzzles, enjoying classic westerns, or sharing meals with family from the Piggly Wiggly in Collinsville.

Survivors include son, Tim Buchanan (Gayla); grandchildren, Hannah Buchanan, Madelyn McMechan (Avery), Noah Buchanan, Nicholas Buchanan (Mysti), Meagan Cantrelle (Justin), and Kaitlyn Green (Josh); 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Buchanan (Eugina), and Joe Buchanan (Linda); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Peggy Weaver Buchanan; his late wife, Penny Crenshaw Buchanan; son, Tony Buchanan; parents, Tom and Anna Bell Buchanan; along with 8 siblings.

The family ask memorial donations to be made to Macedonia Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Bobby.

The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center - South Campus, Arabella Skilled Nursing Facility, and a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.
