With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Charles "Chuck" Icasiano Barrs-a devoted father, grandfather, and most recently great-grandfather; a cherished brother; and a beloved member of the Talihina, Oklahoma community.
Chuck was born on April 13, 1955, and passed on July 1, 2025, surrounded by family and the legacy of love he so generously nurtured throughout his life.
Chuck's journey was marked by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a spirit of generosity that left a lasting imprint on everyone he met.
He is survived by his three children: Charles Shawn Barrs (fiancée Natalie Walker), Kelley Dawn Wampler (husband Dylan Wampler), and Sarah Dawn Barrs. His legacy continues through their children and grandchildren-each one carrying forward the depth of love, humor, and wisdom he shared so freely.
He was a treasured son of Theodore Roosevelt Barrs (deceased) and Nieva Icasiano Barrs (deceased), and brother to his siblings: Ray, Ted, Maria Lynn, Fred (deceased), Teresa (deceased), James, Icasiana, Patricia, Greg, Cecilia, Michael, and Maria, and a beloved brother-in-law to their spouses: Nancy, Marylou, Jon, Cindy, Ian, Mary, Tom, Jill, and Arlo. He was also a devoted uncle to their children who knew him for his steadfast presence, open heart, and great bear hugs.
The bond Chuck shared with his family was one of rare depth-built on shared laughter, enduring stories, and the kind of unconditional love only found in close-knit kin. His absence leaves a profound space in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Chuck made Talihina, Oklahoma his home for many decades, where he was known as a kind, dependable friend and neighbor. Whether chatting on a porch, building a fence, or lending a helping hand at church, Chuck's quiet acts of service spoke volumes. His presence was a steady light in the lives of many.
Chuck will be celebrated at the Catholic Mass at the Chapel of Resurrection Cemetery on Friday, July 11th at 11:00 am, with burial rites to follow-7500 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
May Chuck's soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who walk forward in his name. His kindness, humility, and enduring love live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
