Charles Leon Bavier, Age 80, of Flint, formerly of Roscommon, MI, passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Lord on December 15, 2025. He will know no more pain. Committal services at 2:30 PM Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, a charity he long supported. Charles “Chuck” was born in Flint, the son of Fernie and Goldie (Burge) Bavier. He married Anita Jordan on January 8th, 1966 and promptly took her on a big adventure to live in Okinawa, Japan while he served in the Air Force. He was in the Drum and Bugle Corps and a jet mechanic that rose to the rank of Sergeant. Following his service, he moved to Flint and worked for GM Truck and Bus for 28 years. In the early 1980’s, he came to know the Lord and was saved. He was called to the ministry and was ordained a Baptist minister. He served many roles over the years, including 8 years as lead pastor at First General Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois. He always loved serving the Lord and no doubt continues that in his next life. He is survived by his son Ken (Sonya); grandchildren Patrick, Carly, Brendan, and Ethan; great-granddaughter, Gabriella; sister Bev (Gary); and many nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita; and his siblings Mervyn and Ron.
