Charles Beasley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home from Jan. 2 to Jan. 9, 2026.
Our Dad, Charles C. Beasley, Msgt.-(RET.) passed away early on the morning of Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was 95 years of age. He enlisted Aug. 1st, 1947 in the Army Air Corp, and on Sept. 1947, it became the U.S. Air Force. The transition from the Army uniform to the Air Force became known as the "Brown Shoe Air Force" veterans. He had to dye his brown shows to black, hence the name. He had two overseas assignments, first was out of basic training to Okinawa, and in '55 to Thule, Greenland. He worked as an admin specialist for the first few years at Offutt AFB in SAC HQ, then in Base Operations to his ten-year mark. Crosstraining into Weapon Control Technician, he worked on F-89s, F-102s at Portland AFB, Oregon, and F-106s at McChord and George AFBs. His experience on the fire control computers in F-106s helped him get a job with IBM until he could retire from that company.

He always would chat with whoever was in line wherever he was, and made favorable impressions to people he had just met. He had woodworking skills that helped maintain his home and those of his children and grandchildren, helping them learn how to do it themselves with his help.

One of his greatest joys was roller skating with his wife Beatrice.

He always said that if he was to go anytime, that he had no regrets over his life and how it went.

He will be missed.
