Charles was known for his quick wit, big heart, and the rare gift of making everyone laugh. He was respected not for what he had, but for who he was – genuine, funny, and unfailingly kind.
He loved his family fiercely. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren – telling stories, sharing laughs, and creating memories that will hold forever.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Anne Benson, as well as several of his siblings. His is survived by his brother, Scott Benson; his seven children – Sean Gray, Channing Benson, Charles Benson II, Tempest Benson, Zephaniah Israel, and Tatyana Benson – along with many beloved grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
He leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of music, laughter, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
