Charles Berry Obituary
Charles (Leonard) Berry passed away peacefully at UNC Rex Hospital of Raleigh NC on May 17, 2025 after several months of declining health at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving son David B Berry, daughter-in-law Kristen Berry and grandson Jonathan Berry of Fuquay Varina NC. He is the brother-in-law of Valerie Berry of Apopka FL, the uncle of Melissa Commesso of Brockton MA and Lynn Czarney of Apopka FL and Sandra Berry of Plymouth MA, as well as the great uncle of Christine and Christopher Scott Robie Jr.
Charles was born in Boston and grew up in Hyde Park. He lived in Brockton for several years then moved to Rockland with his wife Mildred Berry in 1966. Charles worked in photography, having worked for many years with Franklin Publishing of Rockland, and Graphic Developments Inc. of Hanover as a newspaper offset print developer. He loved photography and Photoshop, creating magic with his camera and computer. He had an insatiable love for antique cars, knowing the make and model of a car just by seeing them on the road. He also loved history, especially about Italy, Israel and ancient empires. These are many subjects he was especially talkative about, even though he often said he was pretty quiet.
He was very caring and protective of his family, and was a devoted caregiver for of his late wife Mildred as she suffered from Alzheimer's the last 7 years of her life, and later the last several years of his special friend Lilla Kincaid.
Friends and relatives are invited to the graveside service and internment of ashes at the Union Cemetery in Holbrook MA on Monday June 16th at 4pm.
