It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Raymond Beswick, who departed this life on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at the age of 58. Charles was born on Saturday, June 24th, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, and resided in Charlestown, Indiana, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
A beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, Charles is survived by his cherished mother, Judy Beswick; his dear sister, Cathy Huffman; and his brothers, Michael and Joseph Beswick. He also leaves behind his daughters, Nancy Shireman (Clyde) and sons, William Marshal, Jeremy Beswick and Eric Beswick. Charles was a grandfather to his seven adoring grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Beswick.
Charles spent most of his life as a dedicated truck driver, a career he deeply loved for the open road it provided and the freedom it represented. He worked for Dep Services until June of 2025 and was eagerly looking forward to getting back behind the wheel. His truck driving years were filled with stories, adventures, and a commitment to service that reflected his helpful and generous nature.
In addition to his professional life, Charles had a passion for collecting and tinkering, a hobby he often shared with his father. His love for fixing things extended far beyond material objects, as he was known for his willingness to drop everything to lend a hand to anyone in need. His ability to help others came naturally and was a defining characteristic of his unforgettable spirit.
Family, friends, and those whose lives Charles touched are invited to celebrate his life at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Charles will be laid to rest at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana following the service. Arrangements are being provided by Garr Funeral Home.
