Charles Leroy Black Sr.

Charles Leroy Black, Sr., 62, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Fitzgerald Church of God in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
Mr. Black was born September 10, 1962, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Columbus Howard and Bernice Moody Black. Mr. Black was a contractor building homes and held numerous other endeavors throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and especially his hot rods most notably, his Ford Ranger with the 5.0. Weekends were often full of swapping motors in his GTO.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife of 45 years, Faith Black of Fitzgerald; 3 children: Chuck Black & Christy of Fitzgerald, Felicia Perez & Justin of Valdosta, and Austin Trey Black of Fitzgerald; 2 grandchildren: Thomas Brayden McCutchen and Owen James-Henry McCutchen; 5 sisters: Patricia Owens, Sarah Day, Darnell Sumner, Sue Rathburn and Shelia Hall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Randy Black, Jack Black, LucyNell Ford, Dinah Renae, Ronnie Black, and Emmajean Bundrick.
