Charles Robert Borst, age 64, of Bates City, Missouri, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, departed from this world peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2024. Charles was born on September 25, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Robert C. Borst and Mary E. Borst.
Charles was a sergeant in the Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for eight wonderful years. Following his military service, he had a successful career in information technology for over forty years. He enjoyed a large variety of music, cooking on the weekends, and socializing with family and friends. His adventurous spirit led him to his favorite vacation spot in Kauai, Hawaii, where he cherished sunsets, long walks, photography, and local cuisine.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Carla J. Borst; his mother, Mary E. Borst; his brothers, Jeffrey Borst and Daniel Borst; his children Kelli Crabtree-Wilson, Nicholas Borst, and Mackenzie Borst; step-children Lindsey Tutera and Logan Eklund; and grandchildren, Carson, Hudson and Juliette.
Charles now rests in eternal peace, reunited with his father, Robert C. Borst, and sister, Deborrah Borst, in the embrace of heaven. While his physical presence is missed, his spirit lives on in the cherished memories of those whose lives he has touched. As we bid our final farewell to Charles, we remember him as a man whose personality radiated fun and love to all who crossed his path. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind, and the impact of his kindness will continue to touch lives for generations to come. Charles believed that family and faith are the greatest treasures of all and left a legacy of love and friendship.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 10:00am. Service to follow at 11:00am at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Raytown, MO 64133. A burial with military honors will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery 1:00pm, 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, MO 64037.
