CHARLES “CHARLIE” CHASON
DOTHAN… Charles “Charlie” Chason, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Thursday morning, May 23, 2024, at his home. He was 80.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. His nephew, David “PeeWee” Bell will give a eulogy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Chason was born in Houston County, Alabama to the late Dupree Bell and Melba May Pitts. He attended Cottonwood High School. Mr. Charlie was self-employed and associated with the peanut mill at Golden Peanut Company in Headland, Alabama for many years and also was engaged in farming his entire life.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Chason and Leon Bell.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Mary Proctor Chason; his daughter, Wanda Barbaree (Roy), his son, John Chason (Cherie); his brother, David Bell; his grandchildren, Amber Woodham (Auston), Coates Chason, Carson Chason, Kacie Potts (Kendall), and Chris Barbaree; his great-grandchildren, Braylen Tice, Amelia Woodham, and Allyson Woodham; and his special friend, Johnny Love.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Coates Chason, Carson Chason, Kendall Potts, Braylen Tice, Auston Woodham, and David “PeeWee” Bell.
