Services for Charles “Charlie” Earl Smith, Jr.,51, of Ratliff City, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel in Velma, OK with Wayne Weeaks officiating.

Charlie was born July 25, 1974, at Duncan, OK, to Mr. Charles Earl Smith and Sarah (Elliott) Weeaks. He departed this life January 26, 2026, in Velma, OK.

Charlie was raised in the Velma and Comanche area, where he attended school and formed cherished memories that would last a lifetime. In his younger years, he participated in various sports, notably excelling in wrestling and football. After completing high school, Charlie embarked on a career in the oilfield, where he began working with Jones Drilling and later took on numerous roles within the industry. His time as a derrick hand was particularly special to him, reflecting both his industrious nature and pride in his work. Beyond his professional life, Charlie found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was fishing or hunting and collecting arrowheads. Charlie had a particular passion for trucks and was skilled in mechanics, often spending hours working on them. Known for his humor and playful spirit, Charlie had a knack for storytelling and was always ready with a joke. His laughter and warmth had a way of bringing people together. He was deeply caring, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and his nature was a testament to his generous heart. Charlie leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love, and he will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Preceding him in death are his dad, Charles Earl Smith and his grandparents.

Survivors include his son, Dylan Smith and wife Montana of Waurika; parents, Sarah and Wayne Weeaks of Arkansas; siblings, Michael Weeaks and wife Gianella of San Antonio, TX, Jay Smith of Arkansas, Jackie Martinez and husband Juan of Moore, OK, Jennifer Sharp and husband Wes of Mansfield, TX, Matt Smith of Duncan, Candace Pitts and husband Clinton of Buna, TX; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Shoefstall, K C Ewell, Kevin Alexander, Kyle Alexander, Lance Parker, and Stetson Blount.

Honorary bearers are Chase Wright and Mike Cox.
