Charles Edward "Sonny" Chavers

CHAVERS- Mr. Charles Edward "Sonny" Chavers age 83 of Franklin Lane Brewton, Alabama passed away Thursday morning January 8, 2026 in a Jay, Florida hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Alabama. Mr. Chavers was a member of the Catawba Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years, a 1961 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, and was a retired paper machine tender from Smurfit-Stone Paper Mill with 37 years of service. He loved his family and was loved by all who knew him.

Wife-Bobbie Carden Chavers of Brewton, Alabama

(1) Son- Jason (Jill) Chavers of Ocala, Florida

(1) Daughter- Kelli Chavers (David) Hardison of Elizabeth City, North Carolina

(1) Sister- Wilma Jean (Roy) Freeman of Brewton, Alabama

(3) Grandchildren- Christian Barrett, Hannah Barrett (Tyler) Wiseman, Mallory Wright

Daughter- Kimberly Chavers Wright

Sister- Sarah Eiland

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday night, January 10, 2026 at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BREWTON, ALABAMA.

Funeral Services are set for Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Springs Cemetery Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME OF BREWTON, ALABAMA DIRECTING.
