Charley was born March 26, 1935, in Buncombe County to the late Walter B. Christy and Birdie "Nannie" Robinson Christy. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Ann Hensley and Paul Christy.
Charley worked at BASF in Enka for many years before retiring in 1994. He was a proud member of Hominy Masonic Lodge No. 491 in Enka.
Charley was a loving grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was an avid fisherman well known for bringing home his limit of native Trout on each trip. Always outgoing and friendly, Charley loved to socialize with his many friends.
The graveside service for Mr. Christy, with Masonic rites, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, at Green Hills Cemetery.
Special thanks to Charley's friends and Four Seasons Hospice who loved and cared for him during this year.
