Charles "Chuck" Dieterle, 60, of Mendon, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his home.
He was born December 28, 1964, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL, the son of Richard E. Sr. and Valla Lou (Janssen) Dieterle.
Chuck attended Central High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1983 until 1989, and later in the Army National Guard from 1989 until 1994. Following his service to his country, he attended nursing school and worked as a nurse in several area nursing homes as well as in Florida, and Nevada.
Survivors include his son, Christopher William Dieterle of Jacksonville, IL; his parents, Richard Sr. and Valla Lou Dieterle of Camp Point, IL; his very special friend, Georgia Janssen of Mendon, IL, along with her children and grandchildren: Nathan (Jackie) Janssen of Coatsburg, IL, and their children, Nataleigh and Dominick; Courtney (Jeremy) Beck of Golden, IL, and their children, Maverick, Kolton, and Easton; and Abigail Janssen (Jordan) of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by his brother, Rich Dieterle (Julie Kerker) of Augusta, IL; two nephews and their families, Steve (Crystal) Dieterle of Quincy, IL, and their children, Kaleb and Zoey, and Greg (Amanda) Dieterle of Liberty, IL, and their children, Adalyn and Bentley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Faye Dieterle, and Ben and Rickey Janssen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Coatsburg, IL, with Pastor Patricia Reep officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point, IL.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorials may be made to Great River Honor Flight or St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
