Charles “Chuck” Everett Fraser passed away on February 19, 2026, in Delta, Colorado. He was 89 years old. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Delta on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 pm with a gathering to follow at Delta Elks Lodge.
Chuck Fraser was born on January 19, 1937, in Montrose, Colorado to Opha (Davis) and Allie “Red” Fraser. He grew up in Pea Green and graduated from Olathe High School in 1956. Chuck then served in the National Guard.
On Valentine’s Day in 1963, Chuck married the love of his life Cleo Wilson. They celebrated 34 years together. Chuck and Cleo made their home in Delta and raised four children: Don, Patty, Laura, and Lester.
Chuck and his brothers, Don and Ralph, joined Fraser and Sons Logging in 1969 where they operated as independent loggers for many successful years. Chuck enjoyed time outdoors with his family such as snowmobiling, fishing, boating, and camping at favorite spots like Lake Powell and Blue Mesa. He also loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports at Delta High School where he was always heard from the bleachers.
He will be remembered for his many witty remarks — a family favorite is: “Good enough for who it’s for.” Chuck was a kind and generous soul with many friends, family, and neighbors.
He is survived by his sister Shirley Kunkel, brother Ralph Fraser, daughter Patty (Doug) Carlson, daughter Laura (Delbert) Smith, and son Lester (Mindy) Workman, 10 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Opha and Allie Fraser; wife Cleo Wilson; siblings Don Fraser, Marilyn Gallob, Peg Dickerson, and Frannie Price; and son Don Workman.
