Charles Walter Pedersen was born on April 8, 1935, in Lac qui Parle County, MN, to Walter and Elsie (Nelson) Pedersen. He grew up in the Browns Valley, MN, area and attended school there. Chuck later moved to the Wilmot, SD, area and resided there until his passing.
On May 28, 1955, Chuck was united in marriage with Beverly Cardwell. To this union, six children were born.
Chuck farmed for a time and later went to work for the Farmer’s Union. He started work as a plumber for Glen Vreim then went on to purchase Wilmot Plumbing where he did many plumbing and concrete jobs throughout the area. Chuck retired from his plumbing business in 1997 and was proud to turn the business over to his son’s, Calvin and Mike. Following retirement, Chuck could be found on his lawn mower surveying his perfectly manicured lawn or with his friends from the 9:00 a.m. coffee group at the café in Wilmot.
In his leisure time, Chuck loved yard work, fishing, spending time at the lake, and going to Bull Head City, AZ, in the winter. He also enjoyed spending time with good friends and family. Chuck absolutely loved his grandchildren. They always made him smile along with his dog, Piper. Chuck was also an active member in the Wilmot Lutheran Church.
